Constantine beat Langwith 3-2 in the opening match despite twice going behind on a blustery autumn day.
Langwith opened the scoring with an outrageous solo effort from 40 yards, and took the 1-0 lead to half time. Constantine's half time changes made the difference and after just 7 minutes Captain Moody was brought down for a penalty. Hall confidently put it out of the keeper's reach, levelling the game at 1-1.
Both teams chased a positive result, and it was Langwith who found the net. A clever turn to create an angle and space for a shot, followed by a solid left-footed finish. Not to be out-done, Constantine's Magee picked the ball up just inside Langwith's half and let rip all the way into the top corner for what is sure to be a goal of the tournament contender.
With less than 3 minutes on the clock and the score locked at 2-2, sheer determination earned Constantine a corner. It fell to the back post where Cheikh Ndiaye made sure of the finish. It was a deserved victory for Constantine 3s in their first game, but could easily have gone the other way and seen Langwith 4s bag the points.
