Jack Cooper
Like a few other founding members, Jack racked up the appearances for both the 1s and 2s as the club grew. In his final year, he took charge and immediately earned promotion with records being broken each game for goals. The miracle of back-to-back promotions slipped out of reach by the smallest of margins, however the spine of this team went on to achieve that promotion into Division 1 the following year.
Below are the players who Jack believes most contributed to the results they had.
Dom Crane
"Dom gave as much to Constantine as anyone possibly could, and in my year in charge of the 2s Dom played every game, for every team in the college, so this spot isn’t up for debate."
Richard Barton
"Richard was a big factor in the 2s success and brilliantly covered the right back role whilst often getting up the pitch and involved in the attack."
Jason Forster
"Jason was a reliable centre back who showed great pace and was always on hand for a well timed last ditch tackle."
Alex Hare
"Alex featured heavily fore the 2s alongside Jason at centre back, as they formed a formidable partnership at the back. Alex was a very quick defender who could always be relied upon and was always happy to throw his body into harms way for those important blocks."
Nick Banks
"Nick was a hard working left back who got up and down the pitch like few others could, contributed both in defence and attack and could always be counted on to be there for the team. A Captain’s dream."
Ben Froughi
"Ben has been at the heart and soul of Constantine College football for years, he is always happy to do the dirty work on the pitch and is the ideal college football defensive midfielder."
Christian Loveless
"Christian captained the 2s as a fresher in York and was a great leader both on and off the pitch. He played for my 2s team the next year and always did whatever was asked of him, even if that job was the rather boring instruction to stay back and protect the defence."
